Myth: Winning the Lottery Takes Away from Others

Many people feel that the law of attraction cannot be used to win the lottery because one person winning a jackpot would prevent others from winning, so the universe will not allow abundance that comes at the "expense" of others. 
 
Not surprisingly, this line of thought is enough to create big blockages and prevent you from winning. Deep down inside you feel guilty, as if your lottery win would result in others going without. 
 
But does this really make sense? 
 
Most people who work with the law of attraction believe that the universe is endlessly abundant. They believe that there is more than enough abundance for everyone on the planet, and as the desire for more increases, the resources will also expand to fulfill that demand. 
 
If that is really true, how can one person winning the lottery take anything away from others? 
 
From a purely physical stance, there are endless lottery games that can be played. There are numerous levels of prizes, and many drawings that take place daily and weekly. And most states keep releasing more and more games on a regular basis. There are more than enough prizes for everyone who wants to win. 
 
But let us look at this issue from an energetic standpoint. 
 
By having limited financial resources, are you really helping others to be more abundant? If you block abundance from coming to you, does it automatically shift to another person out there in the world? No, because you cannot manifest abundance on someone else's behalf. Only they can manifest their own abundance, and only you can manifest abundance for yourself. Holding yourself apart from abundance does nothing to help others. 
 
On the other hand, allowing abundance into your life (whether through lottery wins or other means), you give yourself the opportunity to help others in need. You may choose to donate money to charitable causes, or simply having more money will allow you more time to focus on helping in other ways. 
 
Preventing yourself from winning the lottery or receiving abundance from other sources cannot help anyone else be more abundant. It's like refusing to eat so you will leave more food for other people in your community, or refusing to breathe because others need the oxygen more than you do. 
 
Feeling guilty or undeserving about wanting to win the lottery is counterproductive. If you instead allow yourself to be fully abundant, abundance will come to you from many different sources and there will still be plenty of abundance for others too. All they need to do to receive it is allow it, just like you!
